Every AI music tool hands you a prompt box. Musical Fingerprint hands you a feel dial. Your taste goes in once, imported from your listening history or a two-minute swipe quiz, and comes out as a fingerprint: genres, energy, tempo, mood, era, visualized like the one above.

Then the thumb does the producing. Too slow? Swipe. Moodier, brighter, more ’80s? Swipe. Slide the tempo spectrum and Deep House melts into Techno; drop a theme and the print reshapes. Every gesture regenerates the track while it plays. That’s the whole interaction, pointed at sound instead of pixels.

Your whorl history

Taste has a when and a where: Friday 11 PM is not Tuesday 8 AM. Every save logs the moment: local time, part of day, coarse location (your timezone’s city, never GPS), genre, tempo. It all lives in your browser only; nothing is sent anywhere. Tap an entry to bring that whorl back. Sample entries show the idea until you save your own.

    The genre map

    Style and tempo aren’t separate dials: tempo helps define the genre. Each family spans three subgenres whose tempo ranges genuinely overlap; the ranges below show each with its typical (modal) BPM. Scrub across an overlap and the readout shows the blend; half-time styles list what the tempo feels like. Diagonal swipes move through both dimensions at once. And the print itself is drawn differently per family: faceted circuitry for Electronic, a double-loop core for Hip-Hop, torn ridges for Rock, an open spiral for Jazz, fine dense rings for Classical, wide soft rings for Chill, clean scallops for Pop, wood-grain wobble for Folk.

    Every developer platform has a “hello, world.” Ours is a hello, whorl: the first bars composed for a brand-new fingerprint. We applied for your developer-API early access to build it. What you’re looking at is the interaction shell, procedural graphics with no model behind them, because the one piece we won’t fake is yours: fast, steerable generation behind a swipe.

    As a design partner we’re small and fast on purpose: one developer, iOS-first, the generation layer built as a swappable adapter, and gated-generation economics designed in from day one. The use case exercises exactly what a prompt box can’t — every swipe is a regeneration, steered by taste, tempo, theme, and time of day.
